Quite a rare beast as far as cowboy guitars go!
Featuring an awesome 'Lone Ranger' stencil design, this model more than likely would have been made by Harmony for the Supertone brand which was sold in Sears stores throughout the 1930s. This one features a sunburst finish, which appears to be quite a bit rarer than the ones finished in black with red binding. This particular example based off some remaining screw holes by the lower strap pin indicate the bridge on the top is a replacement. The nut and neck join strap pins also appear to be non-original to the instrument. Under the hood, this one has been re-braced with an X-brace pattern, and has had some fretboard and fret work. A great example of overhauling making an instrument better than it originally was.
Cosmetically, this example is in good condition. The stencilling is still vibrant on the top. There are scratches, dings, and wear throughout, with the only noticeable defect being a crack by the neck join which appears 100% stable. A little dicey on the high E string beyond the 7th fret, but otherwise plays well for its age with a low action. Includes a case.
