An outstanding, original example from Hofner!

A gorgeous archtop from Hofner, the Committee was its UK model name. Exports to the other European regions and the US got the 468/S designation. Finished in what Hofner referred to as 'brunette', the Committee boasted a lower bout width of 17 1/2" as well as showcasing Spruce top in tandem with Birdseye Maple back and sides. A beautifully dark, Ebony fretboard adorns the neck with incredibly detailed pearloid fret flower inlays. Features the 'mickey mouse ears' above the logo, as well as the birds eye maple inlay on the back of the instrument. Standard for examples this time, this example boasts the Hofner name branded on the upper bout.

In line with Hofner Committe models from this time, this example does not feature a truss rod. Carefully cared for, and in its original condition this example plays beautifully and sounds incredible. Cosmetic condition is quite exceptional for its age. Minor checking and dings can be found throughout, however no oversprays/refinishing is present, nor any visible repairs.

Hardware is fully functional, and plays beautifully with a low-medium action. Currently fitted with a set of 11-52 phosphor bronze strings. Includes a vintage late '50s, early '60s vintage cardboard/synthetic guitar case with leather body straps.
