One of our favourite examples from the Guild catalog!
Guild have historically been overlooked on the vintage market, which is a surprise considering how incredible these instruments are, especially considering the level of value they present. This particular model, dating to 1959, is the T-100 'Slim Jim', which is similar in execution to the thin bodied ES-125 models Gibson produced. Composed of a laminated, hollow maple body with set mahogany neck and rosewood fretboard, this example oozes vintage charm and has an unplugged sound that is to die for. Under the non-original pickup cover is the original pickup, which straddles the line between jazz warmth and funky twang depending on where you set the tone control. This example has had the electronics replaced in addition to the bridge and tailpiece with the original components included in the case. A truly unforgettable instrument with a uniquely musical voice!
Cosmetic condition is good for its age, showing the usual signs of wear in the form of finish wear, dings, scratches, and scuffs throughout. The finish appears to have been taken back on the back of the neck. The top has shrunk in relation to the rest of the body, however appears to be stabilised currently. Hardware is fully functional, and plays with a low-medium action. Includes original parts in addition to an Epiphone-branded hardcase.
