With connections to the likes of J.B. Hutto and Jack White, the Airline Jetson is renowned for its plastic reso-glass construction. However, this rare example boasts a wood body construction. Despite appearing under the guise of a humbucker-sized cover, the pickups in these examples are actually single coils.
Unfortunately missing its serial, this particular example more than likely dates to the early 1960s. It appears the original pots have been replaced, as have the control knobs. Has had a neck repair, and as a result looks like its possibly entirely refinished. Neck is holding up beautifully despite not having a trussrod. This is a brash and in-your-face rock 'n' roll machine, finished in red so it goes extra fast.
We LOVE it!
Hardware is fully functional, and plays nicely with a low action. No case included.
