A German-made oddity from the swinging '60s!
Framus was a German stringed instrument manufacturer, beginning operations in 1946. Known originally for making violins and archtop instruments, the introduction of rock 'n' roll in the 1950s brought upon an interest and demand for solid body electric guitars.
The Strato de Luxe is one such instrument, having been introduced circa 1963. Featuring a layout with some inspiration from the Fender Jaguar, this example comes as a two pickup configuration, with others often having three pickups. Featuring a wide array of switches used to engage independent pickups as well as various phasing combos, these also feature the 'volume swell control'. Engaged with one of the many switches, the volume swell control can hook around the pinky and be used to do volume swells as you play chords!
Cosmetically this example is quite reasonable condition for its age, with a beautiful patina to the gold hardware throughout. Knobs, tuners, and hardware all appears to be original and correct for the model. Hardware is fully functional, and plays with a medium low action. Includes the original hard case.
