A stunning example from Australian guitar history!
Quite a rare 'byrd' so to speak, the FB70 was one of the last body shapes of the Maton Fyrbyrd and had a run from 1968 to 1970, with only 63 examples having been produced. This particular example has had some repairs during its life, with a headstock crack in addition to a body split having been glued up and repaired. The remainder of the other hardware and electronics appear to be original to the instrument bar a ferule attached to the g-string tuning post.
Cosmetic condition is fair for its age, with noticeable signs of repair in addition to finish wear, dings, scratches, and scuffs. Hardware is fully functional, and plays with a medium action. Includes the original Stamford case and hangtag.
