1964 Hagstrom H-45 Sunburst
1964 Hagstrom H-45 Sunburst
Established in 1925, Hagstrom originally began as a Swedish accordion manufacturer, before moving on to guitars and basses in 1958. Some of the famous names to pick up a Hagstrom include: Elvis Presley, Frank Zappa, and the members of ABBA among others.
The H-45 is Hagstroms take on the legendary Gibson J-45, with this particular example dating to 1964. Adopting the same silhouette as the J-45 with its slope shoulders, the H-45 sounds just as robust and present. Plenty of volume, with great note clarity and low mid-range focus.
Cosmetic condition is consistent with its age, with some minor checking throughout as well as the usual expected dings and scratches throughout. This example has clearly been well looked after throughout the years.
Hardware is functional, and plays well with a comfortable low action. Non-original hard case included.
