A fascinating piece of Japanese guitar manufacturing history!
Teisco Gen Gakki established itself in the 1960s as one of the many Japanese brands capitalising on the electric guitar boom of the mid-'60s. Originally manufacturing under the Firstman brand, these Mosrite copies began to emerge based off the fervour from The Ventures at the time. In the early '70s, these were then manufactured under the 'Mosrite' name.
Quite well built considering the era of manufacture, this particular example retains its original pickups which have a nice amount of sizzle to them. Appears all original minus a replaced screw for the pickguard. This particular example has some fascinating wear throughout the entire body, with various discolouration throughout. It's extremely evident when looking at the outline of an old sticker on the guitar. Some inlays are missing on the fretboard, but who needs those? A true rock dog if we've ever seen one!
Hardware is fully functional, and plays beautifully with a low action. Includes a hardcase which has been decked out with a mural of Johnny Ramone.
