A great sounding Red Label Yamaha from the early 1970s!
Fitting somewhere between a jumbo and dreadnought in size, the FG-140 was manufactured in Japan during this period and features a ply spruce top and ply mahogany back and sides. These examples boast X-bracing, and despite the ply construction sound absolutely incredible. The model above this, the FG-180, was famously played by Elliott Smith, and this example absolutely nails that particular sound. This one appears to retain all its original hardware.
Cosmetic condition is quite good for its age with the expected wear, dings, and scratches. There are more noticeable scratches on the treble side of the top, but none of these affect playability or stability. Hardware is fully functional, and plays with a medium action. Includes a hardcase.
