This gorgeous example dates to 1974, and was released as part of the 20th anniversary of the Les Paul Custom. Finished in its original Wine Red finish, these examples boast classic Norlin-era hallmarks such as a mahogany, pancake body construction, as well as the signature headstock volute from this time. Under the wonderful patina of the pickup covers is a dual set of original T-Top humbuckers, which sound absolutely incredible. The binding throughout has aged wonderfully, making this a true visual delight.
Original pots within the guitar date to 1974. Despite the similar level of wear, the bridge appears to be a later replacement (currently missing one of the micro adjust thumbwheels on the low E string). Tuners are replacement Schallers, and the volume and tone knobs are also replacements. Everything else however presents as original, and is functional. Cosmetic condition is consistent of an instrument this age, with wear, checking, dings, and beautiful patina all throughout.
Hardware is fully functional and plays well with a low action. Includes the original 'chainsaw' hardcase.
