1979 Boss OD-1 Overdrive

An early example with the famous quad op-amp chip!

The Boss OD-1 was initially released in 1977 and has gone on to greatly influence all overdrive pedal designs going forward. The early models featured a more sought after quad op amp chip with 14 legs, as opposed to later examples which featured a dual op amp such as a 4558 of some kind. This particular example features a NEC uPC4741C chip. The inner serial indicates late 1979. The exterior enclosure has held up reasonably well, with the only evidence of modification being the replaced volume and tone control knobs. Sounds lovely plugged in and delivers on everything you'd expect from an old OD-1. 

Cosmetic condition is okay with some enclosure wear present all throughout. Hardware and electronics are fully functional. No box included.
