1980s Hondo Deluxe Series 870 PJ Black

A rockin' good time from Hondo!

As part of the Deluxe series initially introduced in 1981, these examples were manufactured by Samick in Korea and exported internationally. This particular example is the 870, which functions as a more contemporary PJ offering. Composed of a plywood body with bolt-on maple neck, these models are exceptionally straight to the point and functional. Both pickups appear to be original and offer a great blend of tones, as any good PJ should. Neck has a fretboard radius of 9.5" in addition to a nut width of 42.45mm. A no-nonsense bass for the no-nonsense player!

Cosmetic condition is good for its age, with light scratching and minor dings present throughout. There are two pronounced scratches on the front of the body near the pickups. Hardware is fully functional, and plays with a medium-high action. Truss rod is almost maxed out, and could do with a neck shim to lower the action. No case or gig bag.
