A Japanese-made '54 with vibe for days!
Reissues, both Gibson and other brands alike, of the '54 spec Les Paul Standard are few and far between. This particular example from Orville dates to 1990, and was manufactured in the renowned Terada factory. These guitars feature all the hallmarks you'd expect to see including the '50s style deep-dish carve, nickel wrap around tailpiece, and two amazing sounding P90 pickups. These were Japanese domestic market instruments, and thus don't show up outside of Japan too often. The one interesting aspect of this instrument is its neck profile. Far from the perceived chunkiness expected, this example has quite a flat and slim profile, more akin to what you'd find described as a '60s slim neck profile.
A nice balanced weight, this example is incredibly acoustically resonant and the P90s deliver such incredible clarity and woodiness. This guitar is moreish to say the least!
Hardware is fully functional, and plays excellently with a low action. Includes what appears to be a non-original hardcase.
