From the first series of the US-made vintage reissue series, this '62 Stratocaster has a tonne of mojo!
Originating from the pre-American Vintage series which saw production from around 1985 to 1998, this example replicates the look and feel of original '62 model Stratocasters. Typical for these models, this example features an alder body with a maple neck and rosewood fretboard with a vintage-correct 7.25" fretboard radius. The original electronics appear to be intact, with this example featuring black bobbins and pot codes that indicate 1994. This example has had the original 3-way switch swapped for a 5-way, which is extremely common on these. A handwritten date stamp at the heel of the neck indicates a production year of 1994.
This example at some stage has undergone a comprehensive body refinish, now in what we can best describe as somewhere between a fiesta and torino red, but with a distinctive orange tint. The neck has been re-profiled and slimmed down, along with a refinish and decal replacement. This work has all been done well.
Cosmetic condition is okay with dings and wear present throughout. Hardware is fully functional, and plays well with a low action. No case, gig bag or tremolo arm included.
