A rare, Japanese-made Mustang in a stunning Candy Apple Red finish!
One of the coolest short-scale electrics Fender put out, the Mustang has seen a bit of a cultural resurgence from student model to indie rock icon over the last 20 years. This particular example, based off serial information, dates somewhere between 1999 and 2002 and is quite a rare left-handed model. In keeping with it's '69 specs, the left-handed model emits the 'Mustang' name from the headstock.
As typical for most models from this period, this example features a basswood body, maple neck with rosewood fretboard, and that classic Fender Japan 'oval' neck shape. Nice and light in hand as most basswood body electrics tend to be, this one is a tonne of fun to play and looks cool to boot!
As far as modifications go, this one has been 'Cobainified' to use a made up term. Featuring a HS configuration, this example boasts a Van Zandt humbucker in the bridge and a Lace Sensor gold in the neck. A three way pickup selector has been installed on the upper bout allowing for some kill switch effects in tandem with mini switches on the pickguard.
Cosmetic condition is reasonable with minor scratches, dings, and swirl marks present. There are two hairline cracks running from the neck plate, however these don't appear to affect the structural integrity of the instrument.
Hardware is fully functional, and plays well with a low action. Missing the tremolo arm.
