A great Classic with some upgraded specifications!
The Gibson Les Paul Classic has been a mainstay of the Gibson catalog for sometime now. Around the 120th anniversary of Gibson, they released models that featured the widely derided G-Force tuners as well as a wider brass nut. However, just before that the models that were being released featured much more traditional specifications. This example features a mahogany body and maple cap, in combination with a rosewood board and mahogany neck.
Originally these featured a PCB wiring setup with push-pull pots. However this example has had this replaced with a more traditional fifties style wiring with Sprague Orange Drop capacitors. Furthermore the original un-covered '57 Classic pickups have had covers added as well as the wiring and toggle switch cavities having their plastics replaced. To round it out the bridge and tailpiece have been upgraded with Faber parts as well as the truss rod cover. The result is a more traditional specification Les Paul with great tone and playability!
Cosmetic condition is okay with some play wear present throughout. There is some noticeable dinging to the base of the guitar as well as a crack in the output jack plastic. There is some lacquer seperation on the back of the headstock. Hardware is fully functional, and plays well with a low action. Includes the original hardcase along with all the original parts of the guitar.
