Coming from Epiphone's successful 'Inspired by Gibson' collection, the 1961 Les Paul SG Standard carries a range of high end appointments with the intention of capturing some of the magic of first year SGs!
Fun fact: for the first of couple of years, the SG was sold under the 'Les Paul' moniker.
Featuring a mahogany body construction in tandem with a mahogany neck and Indian laurel fretboard, this example is lightweight and quite well balanced! To round out the already solid construction, Epiphone fitted these models out with the excellent sounding Gibson Burstbucker 2 and 3 pickups, in combination with high end electronics from CTS, Switchcraft, and Mallory.
Cosmetic condition is near flawless with little to no scratches or dings on the body. Some minor swirl and pick marks are present on the pickguard.
Hardware is fully functional, and plays excellently with a medium low action. Includes the original brown 'Lifton-inspired' hardcase.
