The Classic Series from Fender had quite a storied run, being manufactured from 1999 to 2019!
These were offered as a culmination of various '50s Stratocaster specifications, but fundamentally closest resembles the Stratocasters put out in '57. Features an alder body with maple neck, 7.25" fretboard radius, Fender bent-steel saddles, as well as Kluson-style vintage tuners.
The interesting part with this particular example is that it's had its original serial number removed. Purchased by the original owner around 15 years ago, it was stolen and then thankfully recovered by the owner, albeit with a new set of strings and the serial number taken off. All the specifications and what is located under the hood including a body stamp number correlating to the colour of the body based off Fender specifications is present. Retains two out of three of its original pickups, which are vintage style winds with plastic bobbins. The bridge pickup however, appears to be a non-original Custom Shop Fat 50s. The volume pot is potentially replaced, but that also could be due to some of the soldering when the replacement pickup was installed.
Cosmetic condition is good throughout with minor dings and scratches. There are two hairline splits on the both sides of the neck pocket, however these are only cosmetic and don't affect the stability of the instrument. Pretty common sight to see on these!
Appears to be missing the back plate and tremolo arm.
Hardware is fully functional, and plays well with a low-medium action. Includes an aftermarket gig bag.
