The flagship of Matons acoustic range, this Messiah delivers a big sound!
Introduced into Matons catalog in 1990 the Messiah has seen production ever since, cementing itself as the upper echelon of Maton guitar manufacturing. Featuring a carefully selected pairing of triple A grade sitka spruce for the top and solid Indian rosewood back and sides, the EM100C delivers plenty of volume and presence with a three-dimensional depth to its sound. This example has had the finish taken off the top and has seen some rounding off at the edges of the body. The original saddle has been replaced. It is also missing its pickguard.
Cosmetic condition is reasonable, however the top has had the finish removed and top sanded back slightly, and there is and dings and scratches throughout. There is a minor crack on the top of the headstock as well as on the treble side of the instrument. Both cracks appear stable and don't appear to affect the functionality of the instrument. It also appears the bridge has been sanded down, and due to this the saddle is leaning forward slightly, however it doesn't seem to effect tone or playability. Hardware is fully functional, and plays with a low action. Include the original Hiscox-branded case.
