Super cool, affordable collaboration Samick did with Valley Arts Guitars back in the '90s!
For those who don't know, Valley Arts Guitars were everywhere in the '80s and '90s, played by the likes of Steve Lukather, Larry Carlton, Lee Ritenour, and a whole host of other LA studio legends.
The STM-1 represents their take on the classic Telecaster shape, employing an Ash body construction and rock maple neck. Standard Telecaster-style pickups and wiring are present, with the inclusion of a bullet style truss rod. Does it sound or play exactly like a highly desirable Valley Arts Guitar? Not quite. But for it's price, it's not terribly far off showcasing how rock solid Korean guitar construction was for the time.
Cosmetic condition is reasonable with plenty of scratches dings and chips, however nothing that affects overall playability. Hardware is fully functional, and plays well with a low-medium action. Includes a gig bag.
