Super cool 50s' Gretsch hollowbody in a great looking jaguar tan finish! Featuring a fully hollow construction, the Gretsch 6189 features the earlier Gretsch block inlays, as well as an awesome sounding Dynasonic pickup in the neck.
Modifications made to this instrument include the addition of a Bigsby vibrato, toggle switch, and 50s' era T.K. Smith Bigsby pickup. The Jaguar Tan finish has held up well for its age, with some medium checking throughout. There appears to be some separation at the neck heel, as well as a split on the treble side of the headstock which appears stable.
Super dynamic acoustically, this example really comes to life when plugged in. The original Dynasonic in the neck has great clarity and chime, whereas the aftermarket Bigsby T.K. Smith pickup is woody and growly, offering an awesome contrast in tone.
Hardware is functional, and plays well with a low-medium action.
