1970s Epiphone ET-285 Sunburst

A funky bass from Epiphone Japan!
From around 1970 to 1986, Epiphone produced a good chunk of instruments in Japan, with production mostly taking place at the Matsumoku factory. This example is the ET-285, a cool bass reminiscent in design to the Coronet. These saw production from around 1972 to 1977, with this example appearing to be later in production based off the original humbuckers present. These feature a bolt-on neck construction, as well as a three-way switch and a single volume and tone. This example has had a Schaller bridge added at some point. This example appears to retain its original pickups, wiring, pickguard, and tuners. There appears to be two drill holes left for what would have been an aftermarket thumb rest. A super fun example from the '70s!
Cosmetic condition is good for its age, with the expected playwear present throughout. The pickguard has a crack running through it near the output jack. There are some gnarlier dings at the bottom of the bass. There is a sticker on the back. Hardware is fully functional, and plays with a low action. Currently strung with flatwound strings. Includes a gig bag.
