1986 Fender MIJ JB-406 Jazz Bass Candy Apple Red
$1,700.00
A hard to find medium scale offering from Fender Japan!
It's not everyday that you stumble upon a medium scale Jazz Bass. Featuring a 32" scale length, this model is much more approachable for those of a smaller stature. This particular model appears isolated to the 1986 Fender Japan catalogue, which makes it a rare beast. Further reinforcing the year of production is a pencil date on the heel of the neck, as well as an E serial. Featuring a smaller basswood body with a maple neck and rosewood fretboard, this example delivers some serious thump despite its more compact size. At some stage, the frets have been taken out and has been made fretless. The result is a fun to play, mid-size fretless finished in one of our favourite Fender colours.
Cosmetic condition is okay with some light play wear throughout. There are two drill holes on each side of the bridge, presumably for a bridge cover at some point. A rest also appears to have been added to the pickguard. Hardware is fully functional, and plays with a low-medium action. No case or gig bag included.
