One of the original two artists to receive a signature model from Fender, the YJM Stratocaster has been in production in some form or another since 1986. This particular example is a CIJ model, dating to around 2005. These examples are composed of a basswood body with a maple neck featuring deep scalloping, typical of all YJM models. This model, being the higher end example at the time, features the anchor and bolt system neck join. Under the covers appears to be the original set of pickups, composed of a two Dimarzio YJM pickups and a Dimarzio HS3 in the bridge. Other notable features include a brass nut and Schaller F-Key tuners. This example is missing a backplate and a tremolo arm.
Cosmetic condition is fair, showing noticeable play wear throughout. There is a finish split on the back of the body that runs beneath the neck plate and down to the tremolo cavity. Other minor splits and dings are present throughout the body. The body shows noticeable discolouration throughout, with the middle pickup plastic and volume/tone controls showing yellow discolouration. Hardware is fully functional, and plays with a low action. No case or gig bag included.
