Alpha Audio Taper Pot (Split-Shaft)

Alpha Audio Taper potentiometer. These pots have a metric thread and are often found in many Japanese, and non-US made guitars. Being a metric thread, the shaft is a little narrower than the CTS pots, so they fit smaller drilled control plates, and mounting holes. 

• Metric thread: M8 x .75
• 7.8mm diameter brass threaded collar (import size, smaller than USA spec versions).
• 18 spline aluminium split shaft (coarse).
• Includes 1x nut and 1x dress washer.

Dimensions:

• The brass threaded collar is 9.5mm long.
• Total length of the shaft to the top of the spline is 18mm.
• Split shaft diameter : 6mm.
• Pot casing diameter : 24mm.

Which Ohm value should you choose?

500k pots are the standard volume and tone controls for humbuckers, and 250k's are usually used for single-coil pickups. A 250k gives a slightly warmer tone than a 500K by sending more of the high-frequencies in the circuit to ground.
